INCEPTION AND GROWTH

Established in the year 1950, with Intermediate Course with two sections, Badruka college of Commerce & Arts was upgraded to Degree College. The Evening college was opened after a few years. The college introduced B.Com (Computers) in the year 1998-99 and B.Com (Hon) in 2005-06.

    Those who have qualified at Intermediate or equivalent examination are eligible for admissions to B.Com courses. Students are admitted on the basis of merit.
 
INFRASTRUCTURE

 

Library :

The college is equipped with well-stocked library with over 50,000 books. It also has a large Reference cum Reading Room equipped with over 10,000 books, 40 magazines and Journals and Newspapers.

Computer Laboratory:

The college has a modern Computer Laboratory, equipped with 66 PIV computers which are networked. It is also equipped with an English Language Lab with 40 computers, where students are trained in Spoken English with the help of audio visual techniques.

Auditorium :

The college has an auditorium which can accommodate about 700 students/guests. The auditorium is extensively used for holding various college functions, extension lectures, debates and film shows, all focused to develop the talents of the students.

EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

The college provides several extra-curricular facilities to its students. The college has National Service Scheme Units.

There is also NCC Unit in the college providing necessary training during the student's career and promoting discipline, which is vital for the National Progress and Integrity. The College offers the facility to organize games and sports with a separate Department of Physical Education.

i) ACHIEVEMENTS

The college has the distinction of being the first private college of commerce to be affiliated to OU. The college has been rated 8th among the top ten colleges in the Country and first in the State of Andhra Pradesh by India Today survey. The college has been in the forefront of commerce education and has been bagging the top university ranks. The students of the college have obtained the University first rank in the academic years 1974-75, 1975-76, 1976-1977, 1978-79, 1982-83, 1983-84, 1987-88, 1993-94, 1995-96.

Some of the faculty members of the college have been honoured by the Govt. of Andhra Pradesh several times with awards at the state level for their distinguished services.

NAAC ACCREDITATION

Recently the college has been reaccredited with 'B' grade by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC).

ii) ALUMNI

The students of this college are spread in all parts of the country in various fields such as Politics, Education, Administration, Film field etc. Some of the Alumni are occupying Ministerial positions in State and Central Cabinets. Many students are in foreign countries, rendering their services in various fields.
