Bankatlal Badruka College for Information Technology (BBCIT), named after the founder, was established in 1990, to impart instruction of excellence in the area of IT. The college has been able to carve niche for itself in the academic world in a short period of time due to hard work, dedication and scholarship of staff.

          A. UNIVERSITY COURSES

    MCA : (Master of Computer Applications ) : 60 Seats

    Admission:

    The course has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education [A.I.C.T.E], the premier organization for technical education under the Govt. of India. It is a three year (6 sem) course. Any graduate is eligible for admission to MCA. Admissions are made on the basis of Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) and conducted around April/May every year.

    The College fills 25% of seats, viz., 15 seats, directly under management quota while the balance 75% are filled by Convener admissions, Govt of AP

    M.Sc. (Computer Science) : 40 Seats

    It is a two years programme structured into four semesters with a project work. Those who qualify at BSc with Maths and Computer Science are eligible for this course. Students are selected on the basis of merit in an entrance test conducted by Osmania University.

    Addmission are made by Director Admissions, Osmania University.

    The college fills 10% of seats directly under the management quota.


    M.Sc. (Maths with Computer Science) : 40 Seats

    It is a two years programme structured into four semesters with a project work. Those who qualify at BSc with Maths are eligible for this course. Students are selected on the basis of merit in an entrance test conducted by Osmania University.

    Addmission are made by Director Admissions, Osmania University.

    The college fills 10% of seats directly under the management quota.

    B.Sc : (Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science - UGC Approved) : 60 Seats


    It is a three-year course with Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science as optional subjects. Students seeking admission should have obtained 40% marks in Mathematics and Physical Science / Commerce from the Board of Intermediate Education of AP or its equivalent. Admissions are made directly by the College on the basis of merit.

    (For admissions into B.Sc the attached on-line application form may be downloaded. This may be filled-up and sent to the Director, BBCIT, Kachiguda, Hyderabad 500 027 together with the necessary enclosures and a crossed demand draft for Rs. 200/- drawn in favour of Director, BBCIT).

    B. AIMA COURSES: 

     Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM)

     Post Graduate Diploma in Management and Information Technology (PGDITM)

    Admissions to both these courses of AIMA are done through Management Aptitude Test(MAT) conducted by All India Management Associations, four times a year i.e., Feb, Mar, Sep & Dec.

    MAT application can be obtained from BBCIT after release of notification by AIMA in local/national newspapers. Admssions are made twice a year that is in July and January based on MAT Score.

    Call letters for Group Discussion (G.D) and Personal Interview (PI) will be sent to all those candidates, who have

                      a)   Scored minimum composite score of 500 at the MAT
                      b)   Must have completed graduation in any discipline

    Weightages for selection is as follows:

    MAT Score      -      60%

    GD                   -      20%

    PI                    -       20%

These Courses are essentially in distance learning mode. However at BBCIT, the students attend classes on a full time basis to study some additional subjects of professional importance.

    The fees structure is as follows:

    PGDM - Rs. 33,000/- per semester

    PGDTM- Rs. 43,000/- per semester

    Fees are subject to revision.

    On successful completion of each semester, a student gets a certificate from AIMA

    IV. INFRASTRUCTURE:

    Library :

    BBCIT has a well-stocked library. It includes a variety of books on Information Technology, numbering over 11000 volumes and a number of Journals and Magazines on various aspects of Computer Science. The Library is fully computerised with SOUL software approved by UGC and all issues, receipts and search functions are through computers.

    Laboratory :

    The Computer Laboratories at BBCIT are equipped with the state-of-art hardware and licensed software. BBCIT Lab has 6 servers and 174 Computers. The computer systems and peripherals are networked. The various platforms include Novell, Unix, Linux and Windows NT. The Laboratories are fully air-conditioned. The internet laboratory has the latest branded Pentium systems with large hard disk capacities to access internet through proxy server and explore the world of IT.

    Audio - Visuals :

    To enhance the quality of lectures, seminars and other academic exercises and to break the monotony of classroom sessions, BBCIT has a good Audio-Visual setup, complete with OHP, Slide projectors, Movie projectors, LCD and VCR along with a vast collection of Video cassettes for the use of both the Faculty and the Students.

     V . Workshop / Seminars

    A one day workshop on Image Processing using ENVI & IOL Software was conducted on 14 October 2008.

    A one day workshop on Project Awareness Program was conducted on 1 November 2008.

    A two day workshop/Faculty Dvelopment Program was conducted on 17 and 19 June of 2008 on J2EE Technologies and Server Side Programming.

    A two day workshop on ” Data Warehousing & Data Mining” was organized on 19 th -20 th Jan 2003. Eminent speakers from educational institutions and Industry participated.

    A two day workshop on e-learning was held on 29th and 30th OCT 2004
     

Seminar talk by outside experts :Guest lectures and workshops by emient Academicians, Management and Computer Professionals are held regularly.

VI . Student Branch of Computer Society of India :

    • A student branch of Computer Society of India(CSI) was started at BBCIT on 17th Sep 2003. About 150 students belonging to various courses at BBCIT became members of this branch. The branch was inaugurated by Mr. M.L. Ravi,Vice-President of CSI. A number of dignitaries from CSI and academic institutions participated on this occasion.

VII. Soft Skills

A four week(30 hours) workshop on Soft Skills for all the final year students is a regular feature. This rigorous training program makes the students ready to take on the industry. A 10 day workshop on Life Skills for the B.Sc First year students is also conducted regularly, which not only develops their language skills but also moulds these young students into mature and confident adults.

IX . EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES :


a).
Abacus : 

The BBCIT State Level Annual Computer quiz event was initiated in 1993 by the students of BBCIT, with the primary aim of promoting computer awareness among the budding younger generation studying in various colleges and institutions. A rolling trophy instituted in memory of Late Shri Laxminivas Badruka is awarded to the best team. Besides the Trophy, cash prizes are also given to the first 8 teams. The event has been drawing an enthusiastic participation of over 400 teams from all over the state.

b).
 Games and Sports :

The college conducts various competitive sports, events leading to all round development of the students. Facilities to organize outdoor games like Badminton, Tennikoit, Cricket and Volleyball are available. Many students have won laurels for the College at inter college and inter state competitions. BBCIT has won the Gulam Ahmed Knock-out Cricket tournament during 2004. Students are also encouraged to participate in other co-curricular activities like Painting, Cartooning, Debating, Essay Writing, Music, Dance, Elocution, Quiz etc.,

X. PLACEMENTS :

Placement assistance is taken up in a big way at BBCIT. Apart from publishing placement brochures for MCA and AIMA, personal rapport is established with employers. Most of the MCA students have found placements in organizations like WIPRO, SATYAMS, ECIL, BAAN, CMC Ltd, Value Labs, Info sys, Convergys, HCL etc.,
 

XI. ACHIEVEMENTS :

BBCIT is one of the few institutes in Hyderabad, which is well sought after by students for all courses. The performance of the students in the examinations has always been excellent. MCA and MSc courses have created the records of maintaining 100% pass with all students passing in first class/ distinctions only. B.Sc results average to about 94%. Many students of BBCIT have bagged ranks at University level.

XII. ALUMNI :

To keep in touch with former students BBCIT has established an association named as BBCIT ALUMNI in July 1994. The ALUMNI meet at regular intervals to share their experiences and expertise with the present day students.
