PREFACE


In the year 1950, a proposal for establishing a commerce college in Hindi medium was mooted by a few philanthropists including Raja Bankatlal Badruka and Sri Pannalal Pittie. Nawab Ali Yawar Jung Bahadurji, the then Vice Chancellor of Osmania University appreciated the initiative and suggested that a college be started in English or Urdu medium with an endowment fund of Rs. 2.5 lakhs. Raja Bankatlalji, true to his character, spontaneously donated the amount and obtained the approval to start a college with Intermediate Section in English medium. The first exclusive institution for students of commerce came into existence on 2nd August 1950 and was inaugurated by the renowned celebrity Sri.M.K.Vellodi, ICS, the then Vice-Chancellor of Osmania University.

Initially, the trustees of Seth Gopikishan Educational and Charitable Trust were managing the activities of the College. In 1966, Seth Ghasiram Gopikishan Badruka Educational Society was established and was registered under Public Society Registration Act. Over the years, the Society's educational activities expanded. Today, there are 8institutions of higher learning, managed by the Society covering such diverse areas as Information Technology, Economics, Commerce, Management, Chartered Accountancy, Vocational courses, Music & Dance etc.

GOLDEN -JUBILEE YEAR

The year 2000-2001 was the Golden Jubilee year for the Badruka Educational Society. Over the years, more than 50,000 students have passed through the portals of Badruka Society and some of the Alumni are occupying high positions in India and abroad.

Thus, during the fifty years of fruitful existence, the Badruka Educational Society has seen a phenomenal growth of its Institutions. The institutions under Badruka Educational Society are as follows:
